Felix Jovel, Director
Certified Massage Therapist

Felix has been practicing therapeutic massage since 1997. After graduating from the Baltimore School of Massage, Felix began his professional massage career working for Aveda, a skin care company with its philosophy based in ayruvedic practice. After two years of practice, Felix began teaching anatomy and bodywork at the Baltimore School of Massage, where he also contributed to curriculum development. This helped to solidify his anatomical knowledge and allowed him to pursue both teaching and developing continuing education courses for certified massage therapists. In addition he began teaching various types of body treatments for Aveda spas nationwide.

Felix's extensive massage training includes Swedish, deep tissue, myofacial release, sports, reflexology, table Thai and Sobada (Mayan style massage). Continuing his massage therapy education is just one way that Felix maintains his high standards for offering quality and effective bodywork.

His philosophy is to practice mindfulness living and practice any and all suggestions he gives to his clients. Mind-body connections start with working with the entire being, inside and out. By relaxing the nervous system on a regular basis, the body will then begin to respond as opposed to react to stressors. "This is like training for a marathon," Felix says, "one takes the time to train the body for a rigorous event. By receiving massage regularly, the body is then prepared to cope with the strenuous demands of everyday living."

Felix is available for lectures and workshops.
